urbanmtbpic1.jpgA-Bbikes has been talking with the Boston Parks Dept., Greater Boston New England Mountain Bike Association, West End Boys and Girls Club, local bike retailers and others about developing a proposal for youth programming in Ringer Park in the rocky outcropping area that would include urban (bmx and mountain) bike programming. We’re very excited about working through new partnerships to explore how we can better utilize this area of our local park… stay tuned! If you’re interested in working with us on this project, please let us know at ABbikes@gmail.com (and please spread the word to others who may be interested and encourage them to contact us)!

So we all pretty much agree that we DON’T like our current logo all that much…

a-bbikeslogo9-25-08.jpg

what we need is for you with artistic talent to email to us a proposed NEW logo, and/or cool designs for stickers, T-shirts, etc. As a new community group we have a really slim budget and we need some of you artistic A-Bbikers to share your talent so we have cool designs to wear and put on our blog/site… so… let the artwork/designing/ drawing begin… and email it to ABbikes@gmail.com!

Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s

Hub On Wheels

Sunday, September 21, 2008

For one day in September Storrow Drive becomes a bike path. We’d like to encourage you to join us for this special day and ride as part of our A-Bbikes team. It’s a chance for us to get together and explore the greenways and the shoreline, the neighborhoods and the communities of Boston. Riders choose from 10, 30, or 50 mile loops with food and support provided along the way. No bike? No problem—reserve one on the website and it will be waiting for you at the start.

A great cause. A fabulous time. Your participation in Hub On Wheels will enable a parent and child in the Boston Public Schools to receive the technology and the skills they need to succeed in today’s world. It’s a wonderful way for all of us at A-Bbikes to team up and show our support for a terrific cause.

Sign up now. Pump up those tires and get ready to ride. But the important thing is that you get out there on September 21st and have some fun, help raise money for a good cause, and show everyone the great people we have here at A-Bbikes.

Complimentary registration available. Boston Bikes has provided us with a discount code good for a limited number of complimentary registrations for A-Bbikers. If you want to participate as a member of Team A-Bbikes but may not be able to pay/raise funds for the registration fee, please contact us at ABbikes@gmail.com. (Free slots on team won’t last long, so please be sure to contact us ASAP!)

Let’s ride.

For more information, please visit www.HubOnWheels.org or contact Nathaniel Brooks at 617-918-4343 / nathaniel.brooks.bra@cityofboston.gov.
